![]() (LEGAFI) -- Kroger has issued a recall of its Private Selection Extreme Moose Tracks Ice Cream because some cartons may contain peanuts not listed on the label. Consumers with peanut allergies may suffer serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the ice cream, Kroger warns, so they should not consume the ice cream and can return the product to stores for a refund or replacement. The Kroger recall affects Private Selection Extreme Moose Tracks Ice Cream sold in Georgia, Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, eastern Missouri, Ohio, northern Kentucky, South Carolina and eastern Tennessee. The Kroger recall also includes Kroger stores located in Illinois and Indiana that operate under the names Jay C, Food 4 Less (in the Chicago area), Owen’s, Pay Less and Scott’s. The Kroger Moose Tracks recall affects 16-oz pints of the ice cream with a "sell by" date of June 18, 2012 under the following UPC Code: 11110 52909. Kroger has removed affected items from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts customers who may have purchased recalled Class 1 products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.
