| Couple Sues Green County Sheriff's Office for DiscriminationBy Matt O'Donnell
(LEGAFI) -- An Ohio couple who work as a deputy and sheriff in the Green County Sheriff’s office have filed a lawsuit against the department and two of their former supervisors alleging sexual discrimination, retaliation and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”Deputy Beth Prall alleges in in the sexual discrimination lawsuit that she was treated different than her male counterparts and that she and her husband, Sgt. Michael Shawn Prall, have faced retaliation because of her complaints. Her allegations include being passed over for Officer-in-Charge (OIC) in favor of a less-senior male deputy, being disciplined more harshly than her male counterparts, and intimidation by a supervisor. The lawsuit also claims her husband has been ostracized by other sergeants because of her complaints of discrimination. The couple is asking for a jury trial and compensatory and punitive damages both in excess of $25,000, in addition to legal fees.
